On 10/17/2016 at approx. 6:00 am officers of the Johnson City Police Department were dispatched to the area of Skyline Drive and State of Franklin Rd to investigate a prowler call. Upon officer’s arrival to the area, officers were checking the Road Runner Market, 832 N. State of Franklin Rd., when a citizen told officers that a subject was inside the store harassing the store clerk. As the officer parked in front of the store, a white male came outside, opened the front passenger side door, climbed into the police car and assaulted the officer. The subject also damaged video equipment inside the police vehicle. The subject, Bryce W. Greene, age 27, 209 Post Oak Dr., Kingsport, TN, was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, felony vandalism and public intoxication. Mr. Green was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County Session’s Court on 10/18/2016 at 9:00 am.
