On the morning of 08-15-2016, the Johnson City Police Department arrested 19 year-old Maxwell Riesz for a number of property crimes. The arrest stemmed from a joint investigation between the JCPD and the WCSO concerning some burglaries in adjoining neighborhoods near the city limits. Maxwell Riesz of 406 Millwheel Drive was identified as a suspect and a subsequent consensual search of his home led to the discovery of property identified as having been taken from vehicles and at least one home the night before. The Johnson City Police Department charged Maxwell Riesz with two counts of Auto Burglary and one count of Aggravated Burglary for a burglary to a home. His bond is $40,000 on those charges. The Washington County Sheriff’s office charged Riesz for crimes in their jurisdiction, and additional charges from the JCPD are still pending. Riesz was booked into the Washington County Detention Center with an arraignment scheduled for Tuesday the 16th.
