On 6/21/16, at 9:45 p.m., the Johnson City Police Department arrested Mark Dakota Whitson (3762 Timberlake Rd, Johnson City, 24 years old) charging him with Aggravated Burglary, Theft of Property over $10,000 and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.
On 5/6/16, a burglary report was filed of various items stolen along with car keys, which was then discovered by the victims that their car was missing from the parking lot. Approximate value of items taken was $10,490.00. Whitson and an accomplice used the credit card to stay two nights at the Carnegie Hotel presidential suite then attempted to obtain money from an ATM using the stolen credit card.
On 6/21/16 Whitson was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $40,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 6/22/16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
