On Saturday, June 4, 2016 at approx. 2:25 pm, Officers of the Johnson City Police Dept. arrested Michael E Williford, age 33, 305 Grandview Dr, Jonesborough, TN and charged him with Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to the Target parking lot, 2116 N. Roan St after bystanders observed a male attempting to force open the windows of several vehicles by hand. He then grabbed a tire iron from his vehicle and attempted to force his way into a vehicle causing extensive damage. The male got into his vehicle and began to drive away. A 911 caller was able to observe the vehicle until officers could stop the vehicle a short distance away.
Mr. Williford was charged with Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and is being held on a $10,000 bond in the Washington County Detention Center. He is set to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on 06-06-2016 at 9:00 am.
