On 6/1/16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to 604 Mercury St. in reference to a reported stabbing. The incident was determined to be the result on an ongoing dispute between the resident at 604 Mercury St. and the suspect. A police report was filed earlier in the day in reference to the suspect assaulting the resident at 604 Mercury. He fled the scene prior to police arrival. Several hours later the suspect returned and kicked in the door to the home gaining entry. He then threatened the lives of two people before fleeing the area again before the police could respond. The suspect returned a third time and attempted to force his way back in the home. At that time the resident at 604 Mercury St. stabbed him to keep him from gaining entry and doing harm to his family.
The suspect was located and transported to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment of his injury. Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
