On 12/17/15, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Marques Deguire (431 Kirkland Rd., Covington, GA, 25 years old) charging him with (3cts.) forgery and (3cts.) obtaining narcotics by fraud.
Officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to CVS Pharmacy, 1940 S. Roan St., after employees called about a subject they believed to be trying to pass forged prescriptions. The suspect left and a vehicle description was given. While responding to CVS Pharmacy, 911 dispatched a similar call at Walgreens Pharmacy, 1430 S. Roan St. Officers were able to observe the described vehicle leaving Walgreens and performed a traffic stop. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as the person trying to pass the forged prescriptions at both locations.
On 12/17/15, Marques Deguire was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of an $18,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 9:00 a.m. on 12/18/15 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
