On 11/10/15, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jeremy Christopher Morgan (141 Bayberry Ct. #3, Kingsport, TN., 44 years old) and charged him with theft of property over $1,000.
On 8/9/15, officers met with the victim of a reported theft of property. The victim reported that she hired Mr. Morgan to install gas logs in her fireplace at her home in Johnson City. The victim paid Mr. Morgan with a check for the total cost of the job, which was over $1,000. The payment was made in full to Mr. Morgan on 11/24/14. As of 8/9/15, the date the report was filed, Mr. Morgan has never come back to do the work he was paid to do. The victim went back to Mr. Morgan’s place of business and it appeared to be abandoned.
Jeremy Christopher Morgan was arrested on similar charges and was being held in the Sullivan County Jail. The warrant for theft of property over $1,000 was served on him upon his release from their jurisdiction on 11/10/15. Mr. Morgan was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 9:00 a.m. on 11/11/15 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
