On 11/10/15, officers from the Johnson City Police Dept. were dispatched to a hit and run traffic collision on Interstate 26 near Suncrest Drive. Upon arrival, the victim reported her vehicle had been struck by a black pick-up truck that left the scene. After thorough investigation efforts, the black truck was located at Suncrest Drive and Gray Station Road. The driver had left the scene on foot. The driver was later found in the Gray area and was identified as Kenneth D. McBrayer, W/M, 345 Main Street., Maryville, TN 37804. McBrayer has been declared a Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender. McBrayer was charged with being a Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender, Following Too Closely, Failure To Comply with the Financial Responsibility Law, and Leaving the Scene of a Collision. McBrayer was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held under a $6,00.00 bond with a preliminary court appearance on 11/11/15 0900.
