On 10/15/15, the Johnson City Police Department arrested James P. Walsh (32 years old, of 1404 E. Myrtle Avenue, J.C.) and charged him with Theft under $500 and Identity Theft. The arrest stems from an investigation into a stolen wallet from University Edge Apartments, 905 W Watauga Ave, #305. The investigation revealed that James Walsh stole the victim’s wallet from his residence and subsequently used the victim’s identification to rent a U-Haul truck. This incident happened in May 2014, however Mr. Walsh has been incarcerated in the state of Michigan on unrelated charges. Mr. Walsh is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of an $11,000 bond. He is scheduled for Arraignment in General Sessions Court on 10/15/15 at 1:30 pm.
