SUBJECT: Auto Burglary DATE: 07/18/2015 TIME:10:05am.

On 07/18/2015, at 10:05 Am., officers of the Johnson City Police Department began an investigation into an Auto Burglary which occurred in the parking lot of 104 W. Unaka Ave. A witness observed a black female wearing jeans and a black hoodie, enter his neighbor’s Mitsubishi Mirage. The female was last seen entering a local church.
The victim stated that he has spoken with the suspect before but he was unaware of her name. He stated that suspect had taken $12 dollars in cash from his wallet, which was inside the center console of the vehicle. A silver pocket knife was also reported as having been taken.
At approximately 2:01pm. The suspect was located trying to hide in the back seat of a vehicle at an address in the 900 block of Boone St. The female was placed under arrest and identified as Janeen L Benson (age 29), 1717 Daytona Ct., Johnson City, Tn., 37604.
Janeen Benson is charged with one count of Auto Burglary. She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where her Bond was set at $2000 dollars. She is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on Monday, July 20th, at 1:30pm.
