On 6/18/15, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Debra Ann Paton (Kingsport, TN. 54 years old) and charged her with theft of property over $1,000.
On 5/13/15, First Tennessee Bank, 2112 N. Roan St., reported an embezzlement advising that Paton was responsible for filing expense claims for employees. Several of those valid claims were found to have been submitted a second time and Paton was the recipient of the funds.
On 6/18/15, Paton came into the Johnson City Police Department where she was placed into custody and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 6/22/15 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
