On Friday, May 08, 2015 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Kelly L. Adkins, 29,
of 6954 Burke Lane, Talbott, TN and Daniel R. Smith, 44, of 195 Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, TN
charging each with embezzlement. The arrest is the result of an investigation by loss prevention
employees of Wal Mart at 3111 Browns Mill Road who stated the pair are responsible for the theft
of $9,327.90 over the period of approximately six months by fraudulent means. Both subjects were
arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center and placed under a $10,000.00
bond. Arraignment for the pair is set for Monday, May 11, 2015 in General Sessions Court at 1:30.
