On 04/30/15, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Betty Marie Adams (37 yrs old, 2314 Nave Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee) and charged her with Theft of Property (Embezzlement) over $10,000. The arrest stems from an investigation into the theft of funds from the Douglas Carter Law Firm, located at 100 W Unaka Ave, where Ms. Adams was employed as Office Manager. The investigation revealed that between March 2014 and April 2015 Ms. Adams stole over $24,000 from her employer. Ms. Adams is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. She is scheduled for Arraignment in General Sessions Court on 05/01/15 at 10:30 am.
