Press Release (Russell and Milsaps)

On 4/14/2015, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua Milsaps (828 Hickory St., Elizabethton, 21 years old) and Joshua Russell (5322 Hwy 19 E Lot 6, Hampton, TN, 31 years old). The arrest is the result of an investigation into a rash of automobile burglaries that occurred in late March 2015 in North Johnson City. Both Russell and Milsaps were interviewed on March 25, 2015 after being found in possession of numerous items of stolen property. Both subjects admitting breaking into several automobiles within walking distance of a Johnson City hotel in which they were residing.

Russell and Milsaps were taken to the Washington County Detention Center where they were served with their outstanding warrants. Milsaps was charged with three counts of Burglary to Automobile and three counts of Theft of Property less than $500.00. He is being held in lieu of a $33,000.00 bond. Russell was charged with four counts of Burglary to Automobile, three counts of Theft of Property (less than $500.00), one count of Theft of Property (over $1000.00) and one count of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card (less than $500.00). He is being held in lieu of a $54,000.00 bond. Both are scheduled for arraignment in Washington County General Sessions Court on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 1:30 PM.
