On Thursday, August 25, 2016 Mark A Moody, 57, 124 Warrior Falls Dr, Kingsport, TN was arrested by the Johnson City Police Department on a warrant charging him with attempted burglary, burglary, aggravated assault (2 counts) and vandalism over $500. The arrest stems from an incident which occurred at a business in north Johnson City.

The owner of the business called 911 and the incident was initially believed to be a motor vehicle accident. The investigation revealed that Moody had been to the business earlier in the night and that he threw a brick at the glass door and left the scene. A relative of the business owner was watching the business when Moody returned a second time in the same vehicle. Moody apparently then used a stone to bust out a window and the relative then drove his vehicle to the property. Moody had entered his vehicle in an effort to leave, at which time the relative tried to use his vehicle to block him in. According to a witness, Moody then intentionally rammed the relative’s vehicle twice before fleeing scene. He was stopped on Hwy 36 by the W.C.S.O. and placed in custody on suspicion of DUI.

A warrant was obtained on Moody charging him with the above mentioned offenses and served on him at the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $60,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on August 26, 2016 at 10:30am.
