On Thursday, May 23, 2013, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested
two Johnson City men for charges stemming from two separate home invasion robberies
occurring in Johnson City during the past month. Arrested was Phillip Eugene Woolwine II,
12/12/1992 of 400 Hamilton Street #1, Johnson City and Chavez Mintal Hunter, 10/04/1991 of
1700 Dave Buck Road #13, Johnson City. These arrests are in connection with a home invasion
type robbery that occurred on May, 10, 2013 at 909 Southwest Avenue, Johnson City and a
second robbery that occurred on May 15, 2013, at 719 W. Maple Street, Johnson City.
Both Phillip Woolwine II and Chavez Hunter were charged with one count of Especially
Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Robbery. Woolwine was arrested and booked into the
Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a combined $100,000.00 while Hunter was
served with warrants charging him in connection to these robberies while being held on unrelated
charges in the Washington County Detention Center. Both Woolwine and Hunter will be
arraigned on these charges on May 24, 2013, in the General Sessions Court of Washington
County at 1:30 p.m. The investigation is continuing with more charges possible. A press
conference will be held at the Johnson City Police Department on Friday, May 24, 2013 at
1:30 p.m. for on camera interviews in connection with these arrests.
