On 03/25/15 at approx. 12:50 AM, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Douglas Smith, 27 yoa, of 513 Pardee St, Johnson City, and charged him with Possession of Schedule VI Drugs for Resale, Driving on a Suspended License (2nd Offense) , Evading Arrest, and Loud Muffler. The arrest occurred after Mr. Smith was observed driving a vehicle with excessively loud mufflers at the intersection of E. Fairview Ave//Baxter St and refused to stop for emergency lights and sirens. Mr. Smith was later observed throwing an object out his window at the intersection of E. Oakland Ave//E. Myrtle Ave. Mr. Smith finally stopped at Earl St//E. Watauga Ave where he was found to have several bags of a leafy, green substance believed to be marijuana inside the vehicle and leafy, green residue in the driver’s seat, on the dashboard, and in the driver’s door pocket. Mr. Smith was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $21,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in General Sessions Court on 03/26/15 at 1:30 PM.
