On 12/22/2014 at approximately 1:25 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to a felony shoplifting at Walmart (3111 Browns Mill Rd). The defendants selected multiple items and put them in their shopping cart. Defendants then walked out the lawn and garden exit, past the point of sale without paying for the merchandise. Defendants were stopped by Walmart loss prevention officer prior to arrival of the police. A total of 74 items were recovered, valued at $965. A juvenile and Shannon L Thompson, 43 years of age, both of 2711 Cresland Dr. Johnson City, TN were charged with felony shoplifting. Thompson was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she will be held on a $5,000 bond. An arraignment is set for 12/23/2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County Session Court. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Detention Center.
