DATE:

TIME:

9:00 a.m.

PREPARED BY:

APPROVED BY:

Lt. Billy Church

On 9/6/14, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Clarence Jackson Scott, 210 E. Fairview Ave., 70 years old, and charged him with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and public intoxication.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing call in the 200 block of W. Main St.  Upon arrival officers made contact with Clarence Scott who was bleeding from the face and hand.  Mr. Scott was also found to have a bloody knife in his pants pocket.  Officers obtained statements from several witnesses on scene that indicated Mr. Scott had started a verbal argument with a female and, when a male intervened, a physical altercation began with the male.  Mr. Scott then reportedly pulled out a knife and cut the male.  The male victim had two superficial lacerations consistent with witness statements.  Mr. Scott appeared to be severely intoxicated during the incident and was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

Mr. Scott was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held on a $26,500 bond.  A preliminary hearing is pending in Washington County General Sessions Court.
