On February 13, 2014, officers of the Johnson City Police Department began an investigation into a reported
missing 19 year-old Johnson City man. According to family members, Jaremy T. Kazen of 268 W. Main Street
# 13, Johnson City was last seen leaving a party on Plymouth Road on February 7, 2014. Since then, the
investigation failed to reveal any credible leads into Kazen’s disappearance or possible whereabouts.
On March 8, 2014, a resident of Plymouth Ridge Apartments, located at 2560 Plymouth Road, Johnson City
observed something floating in a retention pond behind a set of apartments at this location. With assistance from
the Johnson City/Washington County EMS and members of their Dive Team Unit, Investigators were able to
identify the item in the retention pond as being the body of a caucasian male. After removing the body, it was
identified as being the missing 19 year-old male, Jaremy T. Kazen. Investigators were able to identify the body
from distinctive tattoos that were described by family members.
The body of Kazen was taken to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center where an autopsy will be
completed to determine the cause of death. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
