On 8/6/20, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher Mullins (2804 Plymouth Rd, 34 years old) and charged him with two counts of aggravated arson.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an incendiary fire that was reported ata residence in the 700 block of Pardee St on 8/5/20 at around 11:00 p.m. The occupants of the home recognized the person that set fire to the porch as an estranged family member, Christopher Mullins. A second, intentionally set fire was reported around midnight on the front stoop of a residence on Regency Sq. Witnesses aided in identifying Mullins as being in the vicinity and timeframe of when this additional fire occurred as well. It is believed these incidents are related and were in retaliation due to a domestic dispute involving Mullins and his estranged wife earlier in the evening on 8/5/20.
Mullins was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10:30 a.m. on 8/7/20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
