On 07/14/20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joshua Forney (508 E Fairview Ave, 32 years old) and charged him with Theft Over $1000.
On 06/06/2020, the victim stated he contacted someone on Facebook about a maroon Ford Crown Victoria for sale. The victim and subject agreed on a price and meeting place. The subject stated that he was at work and he would have his cousin meet him at Walmart on W Market St. The victim stated that a female picked him up in a white Hyundai car and she took him to Clark Manor. The victim stated he saw the Crown Victoria backed in a parking spot with a male in the driver’s seat, who was determined to be Joshua Forney. The victim stated after looking at the car, he counted out $1,700 to the female. The victim stated that he asked Mr. Forney, who was still in the driver’s seat, for the title. At that time the female in the white Hyundai sped off and Mr. Forney sped off in the Crown Victoria after taking his money.
Mr. Forney was arrested in Sevier County on 07/13/20. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center on 07/14/20, where he is being held in lieu of a $1,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 07/15/20 at 09:30 a.m. in the Washington County General Sessions Court.
