On 7/7/2020 officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrest Nathaniel W. Buttram (102 W. Pine St., 36 years old) and charged him with Aggravated Assault.
On 7/7/2020 at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of S. Roan St. and University Pkwy. in reference to a fight in progress. Officers arrived and located the victim and several witnesses near the Quality Inn Hotel at 1900 S. Roan St. The victim advised he had been beaten with a baseball bat by Mr. Buttram who had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. One of the witnesses saw the altercation and was able to intervene during the altercation. The victim was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center where he received treatment for his injuries.
Later that day, officers located Mr. Buttram in the area of 100 W. Pine St. where he was taken into custody. Mr. Buttram was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Mr. Buttram was scheduled for arraignment on 7/8/2020 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
