On 06/23/2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Chad A. Perry (451 Huffman Rd. Piney Flats, TN 37686, 28 years old) and charged him with one count of shoplifting under $1000, Burglary, and Methamphetamine Possession.
The arrest is the result of an investigation for a report of a shoplifting occurring at 3111 Browns Mill Rd. Upon arrival officers made contact with the complainant who alleged that Mr. Perry was shoplifting from the business before attempting to leave the premise. Mr. Perry was alleged to have stolen various merchandise items valued at $90. He was observed on video surveillance concealing items and removing some items from its original packaging. While exiting the premise Mr. Perry was detained at the front vestibule area of the store exit and was escorted to the loss prevention office for processing. Once in the loss prevention office it was discovered that Mr. Perry was trespassed from Walmart property and had direct knowledge that he was not supposed to be on the premise. While conducting a search, Mr. Perry was discovered to have Methamphetamine and Subutex in his possession.
Mr. Perry was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $4,000 Bond. His arraignment hearing is set for 01:30 p.m. on 06/24/2020 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
