On Friday, 5/22/2020, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Stephanie Walton (32 years old, 271 Bob Ford Rd) on the charges of False Reporting and Simple Possession of Schedule II Cocaine.
On 5/22/2020 at approximately 7:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Roan St. and University Pkwy. for a three vehicle crash. The at-fault vehicle fled the scene, but was located a short distance away on Milligan Hwy., where the occupants were identified by witnesses and detained. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody, and during the investigation the passenger, identified as Defendant Stephanie Walton, made purposeful and consistent false statements to police trying to protect the identity of the driver. When she consented to a search, officers discovered what the Defendant identified as crack cocaine and a syringe in her purse.
The Defendant was placed into custody on the charges of False Reporting and Simple Possession of Schedule II Cocaine and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of $4,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 5/25/20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
