On 5/17/20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Angela Hairston (1211 Glynridge Ave., 52 years old) and charged her with three counts of aggravated domestic assault.
On 5/17/20 at approximately 13:25 p.m. officers were dispatched to 1211 Glynridge Avenue in reference to a domestic assault involving a knife. Prior to officer’s arrival, dispatch advised that the female suspect had left the house walking towards Country Club Drive. Officers made contact with Angela Hairston near the area of Country Club Dr. and Glynridge Avenue. The investigation revealed that Hairston had been in a physical altercation with her two daughters. Once the altercation occurred, her husband dialed 911. Multiple sources corroborate the story that Hairston grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened him to not call 911. Hairston’s daughter attempted to knock the knife out of Hairston’s hand with a shoe. Hairston then turned towards her daughters with the knife. The family feared that Hairston would attack them with the knife and they fled the residence. Hairston was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond. Arraignment was set for 5/18/20 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
