On 5/15/2020, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Justin Wilkins (622 South St. Philadelphia, 33 years old.) The defendant is charged with Shoplifting and Criminal Simulation.
The arrest is due to an incident which occurred on 5/15/2020 at 3111 Browns Mill Rd, Walmart. During the incident the suspect entered Walmart and shopped around. The suspect then placed fraudulent barcodes on selected merchandise. The suspect proceeded to pay for the merchandise by using the self-checkout register. The suspect scanned the fraudulent barcodes and they incorrectly scanned for $3.98 each. In total 21 fraudulent bar codes where scanned on merchandise valued at $341.04. The suspect paid for the improperly scanned merchandise and proceeded to leave the store. The suspect was detained by loss prevention and subsequently arrested by Johnson City Police Officers.
The defendant is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a total bond of $11,000.00 He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on 5/18/2020 at 1:30pm.
