At approximately 8:30 AM officers were conducting school zone enforcement at North Side Elementary School when they observed a white Nissan Maxima traveling south on N. Officers locked the speed of the vehicle at 24 miles per hour in a 15 miles per hour school zone and initiated a traffic stop wherein Ms. Whitson was identified as a passenger of the vehicle. The registration decal bearing the year of the tag was falsified and Ms. Whitson stated that both the tag and vehicle belonged to her, and she was aware that the tag was bad. In addition, Ms. Whitson consented to a search of the vehicle where 1.1 grams of a clear crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine was located as well as seven oxycodone tablets and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Ms. Whitson was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she is being held on a $10,000 bond.
