On 07/19/2019, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher R Pickering of 205 Big Valley Dr. Johnson City, TN 37601, 35 years old, and charged him with one count each of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault Domestic.
The arrest is the result of an investigation for a report of shots fired at 205 Big Valley Dr. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a witness who alleged that his mother had been assaulted by Mr. Pickering. Officers then spoke to the victim who identified Mr. Pickering as the person who assaulted her. The victim provided information about the assault which involved the use of a deadly weapon placing her in fear for her life. She alleges that her life was threatened, and that for a short time, she was unable to escape from Mr. Pickering due to fear of serious bodily injury. Mr. Pickering was located some time later and the weapon involved was confiscated. That weapon was determined to be a stolen firearm.
A warrant was obtained for Mr. Pickering and served on him at his place of employment. He was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $100,000 Bond. His arraignment hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on 07/19/2019 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
