On the 21st of February, 2019 at about 10:27am, officers of the Johnson City Police Dept. arrested Mr. Clifford R. Norton of 75 Sulphur Spring Loop, Greeneville TN. Mr. Norton was charged with Manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines, and Unlawful drug paraphernalia uses and activities.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a suspicious person call at the 11 E Motel at 3500 W. Market St. Johnson City. Upon arrival officers were directed towards Mr. Norton who was asleep in a vehicle on the parking lot of the motel. A records check of Mr. Norton revealed that the Greene Co. Tn. Sheriff’s Dept. currently held an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Norton was taken into custody and during a search of his person, officers found a small quantity of methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia in his pockets.
Mr. Norton is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center, under a bond of $5000.00. Mr. Norton is set to appear in the Washington County General Sessions Court for an arraignment on the 22nd of February 2019 at 9:00am
