On 01/16/19, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Clifford Sanders (24 yrs old, 725 Gray Station Sulphur Springs Rd) and charged him with Motor Vehicle Theft over $10,000 and Aggravated Criminal Trespass. The arrest stems from an investigation into a theft from a construction site located at 2312 Browns Mill Rd on 12/17/18. Someone cut the padlock to the fence surrounding the job site and stole a Cat skid steer. Traffic cameras showed a truck hauling the skid steer on the north end of the city. The skid steer was crashed into a fence on Knob Creek Rd and was recovered at the time. The investigation led to Cliff Sanders being the suspect. Mr. Sanders is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $21,000 bond. He is scheduled for arraignment in General Sessions Court on Thursday 01/17/19 at 1:30 pm.
