Felony Arrest - Vehicle Theft

JCPD NEWS RELEASE

On 11/20/2018, officers with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jeffery A. Jackson, 32; of Johnson City, TN.  The arrest stems from an investigation into a stolen vehicle; Jackson was stopped while driving the vehicle and fled from the traffic stop on foot but was taken into custody after a brief chase.  Upon further investigation it was discovered that Jackson’s driver’s license are currently revoked for DUI; he was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Jackson was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where is was charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Driving on a Revoked License 1^st, Evading Arrest and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Jackson has an initial court appearance scheduled for November 21, 2018 at 10:30 am in Washington County General Sessions Court.
