On 10/25/2018, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Shannon Harris (40 years old of 511 Holston Ave. in Erwin, TN) and charged him with Methamphetamine Possession, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Possession of Schedule 2 and 3 drugs.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to 1910 S. Roan St. in reference to a welfare check of an unconscious male subject. When Officers arrived on scene, they observed the suspect Shannon Harris unconscious in a vehicle. Officers knocked on the windows and Mr. Harris did not respond immediately. Officers continued to knock on the vehicle’s windows and Mr. Harris would look at officers, but then pass out again. Officers then opened the door to check the suspect’s welfare and at that time he woke up. He exited the vehicle and officers conducted a pat down of weapons and found a pocket knife in his pocket. Officers also found approximately 2.9 grams of Methamphetamine, a used needle/syringe and approximately 2 Schedule II pills and 25 schedule III pills in his possession.
Mr. Harris was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center for the listed charges. He is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Mr. Harris is due to appear in court for his arraignment at 1:30 p.m. on 10/26/2018 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
