On 07/31/18, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Justin A. Powell ( 37 years old, 1402 Lynnwood Dr.) and
charged him with Vandalism over $1000, a felony.
At approximately 4:24 p.m., officers responded to Walmart Supercenter on Browns Mill Rd. Loss Prevention Specialists met officers
and advised that a male subject had been inside the store opening cell phone cases and throwing them on the ground. They also led
officers to electronics where the male was still damaging merchandise. Employees pointed out the male subject who was opening cell cases
as an officer approached. Mr. Powell was detained and taken back to the loss prevention office to be processed as well as to obtain a total on the damages. The total of damages were $1476.00, which is a felony amount.
Mr. Powell was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a
$10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 9:00 a.m. on 08/01/18 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
