On 06/08/18, at 6:44 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to Wild Wings Café, 71 Wilson Ave., in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject who reported he was sitting in the restaurant when he noticed a female in the establishment, whom he had taken out an order of protection against. The male further stated the female, 49 year old Debbie Fletcher Wampler, 7 Windridge Ct., Johnson City, approached and began to push him, while telling him to leave the establishment. The victim was able to record the assault on his cell phone.
During the course of the officer’s investigation, it was discovered the order of protection had been served on 05/18/18 by the Washington County Sheriffs Department. Due to Ms. Wampler assaulting the victim while under an order of protection, she was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and violation of an order of protection. She was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she is currently being held in lieu of a $6,000 bond. An arraignment is scheduled for Monday, 06/11/18, at 1:30 p.m.
