On 9/20/13, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Kimberly L. Maupin (2 Mel Circle #2) and charged her with aggravated assault.
At approximately 12:00 a.m., officers responded to the residence of the victims. As officers arrived on the scene, Ms. Maupin and the victims were fighting in the yard, surrounded by several other individuals. Witnesses reported that Ms. Maupin had been armed with a knife and had cut one victim, in addition to inadvertently stabbing herself in the altercation. Several other subjects had fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, and had been armed with pepper spray and blunt objects. Both victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and Ms. Maupin was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment of the non-life threatening stab wound in her leg.
Police arrested Ms. Maupin upon her release from the Medical Center and transported her to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 10:30 a.m. on 9/20/13 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
