On 1/16/18, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Kobe Byrd (18 years old, of Elizabethton), and charged him with three counts of selling marijuana and two counts of violating the drug free school zone law.
The arrest stems from an investigation into the distribution of marijuana. During the investigation, Mr. Byrd sold marijuana to an individual working on law enforcement’s behalf on three occasions. Two of these transactions occurred within 1,000 feet of a city elementary school.
Byrd was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond. He is scheduled for arraignment on 1/17/18 at 9:00 A.M. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
