On 07/02/2017, at 8:55 p.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested 41 year old David Dunbar, 141 E Market St Johnson City, TN, charging him with Aggravated Assault (Domestic).
After an investigation into a disturbance call on 06/30/2017 at 141 E Market St, officers determined that David Dunbar had assaulted his girlfriend after an argument over an alleged indiscretion with another man. The victim stated that Dunbar was using meth and he became angry after she called him a liar. The victim stated Dunbar approached her grabbed her by the throat and pushed her onto a bed. The next thing the victim remembers is waking up on the kitchen floor. The victim was found by the apartment manager and he called 911. A warrant was taken out for the suspect David Dunbar that evening.
On 07/02/2017 officers where on a foot patrol in a homeless camp and made contact with the suspect and placed him under arrest for Aggravated Assault and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on a $30,000 bond. An arraignment is set for 07/10/2017, at 1:30 p.m., in Washington County Sessions Court.
