On Monday, June 26, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Theron Mullins, 51 years of age, 106 Oak Rd, Bristol, TN, on the charge of Aggravated Domestic Assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation into a domestic disturbance that occurred along the side of the Bristol Hwy earlier in the evening. The investigation revealed that Mullins, while traveling in a vehicle, had been arguing with is ex-girlfriend and he reportedly became violent, trying to force her out of the vehicle and choking her at one point. She was able to get away from him and signal a passer-by for help. Mullins fled the scene before officers arrived, but was later arrested by Bristol Police on the outstanding warrant. He was turned over to our agency and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $10,000 bond. His arraignment is set for Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 1:30 pm in Washington County General Sessions Court.
