On 06/14/2017, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Joseph Dechristina (2517 Hammond Ln, Knoxville, 22 years old) and Dakotah Shell (385 Mount Zion Rd, Afton, 26 years old) and charged each with 11 counts of Felony Reckless Endangerment and 15 counts of misdemeanor Vandalism, and one count of Aggravated Assault.

At approximately 3:43 pm, officers began receiving several calls throughout the city of windows of vehicles and businesses being shot out. Through the investigation it was determined the windows were being broken out by metal ball bearings. One victim was struck in the side with a ball bearing while walking along State of Franklin Rd near Gilbreath Dr. That victim was able to describe a suspect vehicle to 911 dispatch. A deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle on Indian Ridge Rd and performed a traffic stop where the two were taken into custody. A sling shot was found inside the vehicle with several ball bearings. The sling shot was determined to have been used to cause the damage to several vehicles and businesses throughout the city while the two drove around in the vehicle. Further charges are also pending, following more reports that are still coming in.

The two suspects were transported to the Washington County Detention Center where they are being held . Arraignment is set for 1:30 pm on 06/15/17 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
