SUBJECT: | Best Buy Burglary | DATE: | 11/17/16 | TIME: | 10:30 AM |
PREPARED BY: | Inv. Josh Morgan | APPROVED BY: | Sgt Mike Adams |
The Johnson City Police Department is currently investigating a recent business burglary that occurred at Best Buy. On the morning of November 11th, officers responded to Best Buy, 3222 Peoples St. When employees arrived to open the store, they noticed that sometime during the night, someone entered the business and stole various Apple product electronics. After reviewing surveillance video inside the store, officers found that at least three suspects made entry by gaining access through the roof. After checking with agencies throughout the eastern U.S., it appears this burglary is connected to other similar burglaries in several different states. Investigators believe that these burglars are from outside of the area and traveled to Johnson City with the sole intent of committing this crime. It is also believed that the suspects may have visited surrounding businesses on November 10th and 11th, and possibly stayed in a hotel somewhere in the region. We are seeking the public’s assistance and ask that anyone who may have seen the suspect attached in the photo or the UHaul rental van during the mentioned dates, please contact the Johnson City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (423)434-6166 or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 434-6158. To send a confidential tip text 423JCPD and your tip to 847411 (TIP411) or send a tip to www.citizenobserver.com.
