Robbery Arrest

On Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 6:52 a.m. officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to the Roadrunner Market located at 901 W Walnut St to the report of an Armed Robbery.  The clerk stated that a white male came into the store, brandished a knife and demanded money from the register.  When the clerk refused the suspect fled the scene.  A white male fitting the description was located a short distance away and was identified as the assailant by store surveillance video and was subsequently identified as Coleman Foster Durnford, 1109 University Pkwy apt 4203, Johnson City, 33 years old.  Durnford was arrested and charged with 1 count of Attempted Aggravated Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond on that charge.  He was also charged with 1 count of Burglary and 1 count of Theft of Property over $1,000 on outstanding warrants that had been obtained earlier by the Johnson City Police Department.  He also has a $50,000 bond on this warrant and arraignment is scheduled for Friday, August 26^th, 2016, on all charges, in the General Sessions Court of Washington County, TN.
