On 6/21/16, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Deanna L. Hays (1203 Althea St, Johnson City, TN, 50 years old) and charged her with forgery over $10,000.
On 6/14/16, members of Friends of Olde Downtowne, INC., reported to the Johnson City Police Department that they discovered that numerous checks had been forged by an independent contractor that was responsible for the finances of the organization. The contractor, Deanna L. Hays, was interviewed and admitted to writing checks to herself and forging signatures. The total of the checks reported as forged amounted to $49,950.
On 6/21/16, Deanna L. Hays was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 6/22/16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
