On May 06, 2016 at about 10:28 am., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to 310 University Parkway in reference to a burglary-in-progress to a residence. The victim at the residence advised E-911 dispatchers that a male subject had attempted to gain entry to her residence through a window. The male subject fled when he was confronted by the victim. She gave a description of the suspect to dispatchers, who advised officers to be on the lookout for him. Prior to officer’s arrival at the residence, officers located a male subject matching the description standing next to a vehicle that was parked on Peach Blossom Court behind Grandview Christian Church, in close proximity to the victim’s residence. Officers made contact with the male suspect and another male subject, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The suspect, Lucas Saylor, was identified by the victim as the person who attempted to gain entry into her house. Lucas Saylor, age 25, 313 Wilson Ave., Johnson City, Tenn. was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Leon Taylor, age 42, 1300 Amber Dr., Johnson City, Tenn. and was also placed under arrest Burglary. It was also found that Mr. Taylor had an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Burglary and Theft of Property. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Saylor were both taken to the Washington County Detention Center where each is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. Court date is set for May 09, 2016 at 1:30 pm in Washington County General Sessions Court.
