On 01/02/16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Christopher L Saults (200 Miller Rd, Jonesborough, 33 years old) and charged him with Theft of Property over $500 and False Reporting.
At approximately 3:20 p.m. officers responded to the arear of Montgomery St., and W. Watauga Ave., in reference to a stolen vehicle taken from Unicoi County, TN. While searching the area a friend of the victim flagged down officers and directed them to an address on W. Watauga Ave., where both the vehicle and Saults were located. While attempting to identify Saults he provided officers with his brothers’ personal information. Saults’ true identity was verified after obtaining his personal information from Unicoi County Authorities.
Saults was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 01/04/16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
Saults was also served with an outstanding warrant from Washington County for Failure to Appear on a previous drug charge. Additional charges are also expected from the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department regarding the initial theft of the vehicle and other items.
