On December 07, 2015 at about 6:47 pm., officers of the Johnson City Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on State of Franklin Rd. at the intersection of Knob Creek Rd. Officers found that at 1998 Subaru Outback was traveling east on State of Franklin Rd at Knob Creek Rd and struck a pedestrian that was attempting to cross State of Franklin Rd. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was running from the north side of Knob Creek Rd., crossed westbound State of Franklin Rd and was struck as he was crossing eastbound State of Franklin Rd., which had a green light. The driver of the Subaru, Johnny Freeman, age 38, Fall Branch, Tenn. was uninjured in the crash. The pedestrian, Justin M. Adams, age 33, Johnson City, Tenn. received serious injuries and was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center ER by EMS for treatment. He is listed in serious but stable condition. No charges are being placed in this investigation.
The investigation is being conducted by the Johnson City Police Department Traffic Homicide Team.
