On 11/3/2015 at approximately 10:00 PM officers went to the Johnson Inn at 2700 W. Market St. to attempt to locate Sherry Morgan, 31 yoa, of 107 E. College Street, Jonesborough, and take her into custody on an arrest warrant for 21 counts of identity theft and 21 counts of theft under $500. When officers made contact with Ms. Morgan in her hotel room, she attempted to conceal her identity by giving officers a false name. It was determined that the identifying information that Ms. Morgan provided belonged to someone else. After placing her under arrest, officers found a syringe hidden on her person. In addition to the charges on the arrest warrant, Ms. Morgan was also charged with identity theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ms. Morgan is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $31,000 bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for 11/4/2015 at 1:30 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
